Andy has been in tennis for more than 35 years. Growing up in the St. Louis area, he was a highly ranked junior in the Missouri Valley and the Midwest and went on to play four years at Drake University. Graduating with a degree in journalism, he went on to positions in Houston, Austin, Texas, New York City, New Jersey, St. Louis and Ann Arbor, MI. He continued to compete and coach tennis while managing a successful journalism career. While in New York he covered the United States Open for United Feature Syndicate. Andy is a USPTA-certified professional and an Etcheberry-certified fitness, strength and conditioning coach. He is working towards becoming a USTA High Performance coach. He is a frequent contributor to Tennis magazine, and Smash, among other publications. Andy coaches and teaches many ranked juniors, as well as recreational players and adults in the Ann Arbor, MI area. He also coaches the highly regarded Saline, MI, High School men’s and women’s tennis teams. |
