Oscar has been playing tennis for over 20 years, winning about 10 local championship with his team from Industry hills in California. His team has won the State championship 5 times and represented California 5 times in the nationals, winning the national title once and were finalists the second time. Oscar has been training a professional tennis player, Jose Quiroz from Chile for 6 months who plays satellites and 2 girls that are 16 years old but play in the 18’ group division. Brittney Saunders is currently ranked # 4 is Southern California and her sister Nikki Saunders is # 13. They are also training in the Home Depot Center in Carson, California which is a national training center with Jose Higueras who is Roger Federer’s coach. Oscar also trains some other top juniors in the Upland Tennis Club, teaching tennis and being their physical trainer. He also has been training his 13 years old son for about 5 years and in 2008 Oscar’s son won the Satellite Masters in the Home Depot Center in the 12 years old division. Oscar’s biggest asset is that he finds the way to keep his athletes motivated and has been able to work on their minds so they can perform better. Following Pat Etcheberry’s training methods he has been able to train better athletes and to develop new ideas or variation to Pat’s exercises with great results. |
